Mission Statement
Overview
The University’s Small Business Program is administered by the Procurement Services Department. In addition, all campus departments that require goods and services have a responsibility to support and cooperate with the Small Business Program. Procurement Services directs and supports the University’s ongoing commitment to encouraging business opportunities among its suppliers by ensuring that all suppliers have better access to and knowledge of the University’s procurement system. Procurement Services supports the University’s commitment to making supplier selections with the objective of achieving and fostering small business participation. The inclusion of small businesses in the economic mainstream improves the economic stability and vitality of our community, state, and nation.
Initiatives
Procurement Services will:
- Increase awareness of the Small Business Program throughout the University
- Inform and educate suppliers regarding how to conduct business with the University
- Give every reasonable business opportunity to small businesses to participate as direct suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors at Iowa State University
