Mission Statement

The mission of the Iowa State University Small Business Program is to maximize and create opportunities for small businesses to do business with the University, when it procures goods and services at all dollar levels and regardless of fund source.

Overview

The University’s Small Business Program is administered by the Procurement Services Department. In addition, all campus departments that require goods and services have a responsibility to support and cooperate with the Small Business Program. Procurement Services directs and supports the University’s ongoing commitment to encouraging business opportunities and diversity among its suppliers by ensuring that all suppliers have better access to and knowledge of the University’s procurement system. Procurement Services supports the University’s commitment to diverse supplier selections with the objective of achieving and fostering greater minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned and disabled-owned business participation. The inclusion of these businesses in the economic mainstream improves the economic stability and vitality of our community, state, and nation.
